Network Marketing Tip: Change Your Password On Facebook Frequently
Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 02:13PM How to change your password on Facebook (or most a any site) is a simple and important thing to do.
Recently a fellow internet network marketer and a good friend of mine got her Facebook account hacked. They used her account to send out a bunch of bogus links in an attempt to collect information about her friends. Luckily she caught it and warned people in time to avoid disaster.
So let's learn from this and not put our accounts and reputations (which our network marketing business depends on) at risk and change our Facebook and other passwords frequently.
Here's how to change your Facebook password...
First you'll have to be logged into your Facebook Account. Then look up to the top of the page and see the word "Settings" hover your mouse on this. A drop down menu will appear, slide your mouse down and click on "Account Settings".
Once inside "My Account" you'll see the 3rd line down is your "Password" section. On the far right you'll see the word "change" in blue. Click on this.
You'll need to type in your old password, then the new password you want to use. Type the new one in again to confirm you typed it right then click "Change Password"
Poof! You're done!
For those of you who'd like to see this process before trying it yourself I've made a Mighty-Mini Tutorial...
"How To Change Your Facebook Password"
Enjoy!
As internet network marketers we can't be too careful with our accounts. Not only does our reputation depend on our password security but our livelihood as well. So keep yourself save and be sure you should change your Facebook (and other) passwords frequently.

Network Marketing Tip: Beware of Bookmarking Spam
Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 05:32PM In business, especially internet marketing, your reputation is your life. Your business success literally hangs in the balance of public opinion. Once lost, your reputation as a good web citizen will be hard to reclaim. So please, take this network marketing tip to heart and avoid bookmarking spam (or any spam) so your internet network marketing business will thrive.
Bookmark and link Spam is a big problem the whole web 2.0 community must come to grips with or we are in danger of killing the goose that’s laying our golden eggs.
I can hear you hollerin already, “Shelly, what the heck are you talkin about?” Let me explain...
Recently, I was doing some bookmarking and discovered that Propeller will no longer accept submissions from Hubpages because they consider everything that comes from that domain (the whole site!) to be spam. The same thing is true of Ezine articles over at Digg.
This is a glaring example of why we MUST learn good bookmarking practices.
If the powers that be, come to believe that only Spam comes out of web 2.0 sites like Hubpages, Ezine Articles and Squidoo, then we are on our own. We’ll be back to paying for hosting for ANY content we want to put out on the web. We won’t be able to leverage off the “clout”, reputation and page rank of places like Squidoo.
In fact, the situation over at Digg may be one of the reasons that Ezine Articles has recently (and still is) rewriting their submission policies.
I know it’s a pain to try and figure out what is allowed and what’s not. But stick with it… especially in places that are strict… because what they are doing is protecting their reputation of excellence and therefore they are protecting yours too.
Look at strict and ever changing web 2.0 site submission policies as a good thing.
By learning and following the rules at web 2.0 sites, like Ezine Articles, you are leveraging off the THOUSANDS of Dollars they pay to an army of experts that research this topic.
If someplace like Hubpages says what you’re doing will be seen by Google as Spam… don’t yell at them… make your stuff comply then get down on your knees and thank them for saving you from certain internet marketing doom… they just saved you from becoming the most hated of all internet marketing scum… A SPAMMER!
So what exactly is todays network marketing tip?
Ok, I'll spell it out for you...
When you’re frustrated, angry and confused because your submission has been rejected for the “umpteenth” time or Hubpages Unpublished ALL your articles (yes, this happened to me) go get a pillow and have a good primal screaming session!
THEN read the rules at least 3 more times. Look over your submissions and go FIX THEM. Make your content comply with the new or revised standards.
These are NOT arbitrary decisions these companies have made just to annoy you… no matter how much you think they are at the time. It’s in your best interest to apply what you learn to all your content. Not just the stuff for that particular site.
This network marketing tip... Following good linking and bookmarking practices... will preserve your reputation as an internet marketer with integrity and keep you in Google’s good graces, both now and in the future.

Network Marketing Tip: Make It Easy For Your Blog Readers to Subscribe!
Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 08:11PM How many of the sites you bookmark do you actually visit more than once?
Oh, come on, admit it… especially when you're building a business online, you visit TONS of sites. Each one you visit has content that's the best thing since sliced bread. So, you book mark the site then promptly forget it.
Do you want this to happen to your blog?
Face it unless you are reminded to come back the chances are slim that you’ll ever see that wonderful site again. Even if it's the best network marketing site online.
Do NOT let this happen to your blog!
To avoid this horrid fate provide ways for your readers to be reminded of you and your site.
RSS is a good way to remind readers to visit you. Be sure your blog has at least one RSS feed. And don’t make your readers hunt for the subscription button. Be sure it’s in a prominent place on EVERY page of your blog.
However, having an RSS feed alone isn’t enough. Many people still don’t know what an RSS feed is or how to use it.
But they understand “email” and will appreciate having your new content delivered right into their inbox. That’s where RSSForward.net comes in.
RSS Forward sends your new posts to your readers via email. No new skills for them to learn, no new thingies for them to download… just type in their email address and POOF! Your valuable content is delivered to them each time you make a new post.
Best of all, it’s free and easy to set up. All you have to do is copy and past a bit of html code onto your blog.
I have to admit RSS Forward is my preferred way to receive blog updates because I never remember to check iGoogle or my RSS reader but I do check my email regularly.
If you’d like to see how it works before putting adding RSS Forward to your site just pop your email address into this form and next time I update Network Marketing News you’ll have the post content delivered right to you.

So, set up multiple ways for your readers to find you.
That’s a network marketing tip that not only will draw more prospects into your pipeline it'll have them thanking you for making it easy for them to find you.

Network Marketing Tip: Make Use of FREE information!
Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 12:11AM Stretch your business budget
With this network marketing tip.
The Web Is Full Of Free Information… Use It!
If you’re building your business on a shoestring budget like I am you need every advantage you can get. Thankfully building an internet network marketing business is faster, easier and “cheaper” than building any other type of home based business.
Even so, you can still nickel and dime yourself to death if you’re not careful.
So… Here’s a network marketing tip that will really help you to S-t-r-e-t-c-H your budget. All the best internet marketing and attraction marketing gurus put literally TONS of incredibly valuable information online... for FREE!
Heck, even some of the network marketers are starting to catch on ;)
This tip ties in neatly with my last network marketing tip. (You remember… save your Gurus emails) Look for FREE marketing information in all kinds of places.
One of the best places to find excellent advice and ideas is in the email newsletters you get from industry leaders. Some of the folks I think give out the best marketing information for free are… (in no particular order) Ann Sieg, Mike Dillard, Mike Klingler, Clayton Makepeace and Eban Pagan.
If you save these folks emails over a period of time then line them all up chronologically and read thru them… You’ll get a real education in how to set up an email campaign. You’ll see how they add value (the free information we’re talking about here) and by adding value they “attract” you to them and make you actually WANT to buy things from them.
Another place to find FREE marketing information is on the websites of these same people. Eban Pagan gives away an absolutely AMAZING amount of business building information on his website and on YouTube in a series of videos he’s got posted there.
Mike Dillard has an excellent video series he sends out via email that contains TONS of great info. Clayton Makepeace is arguably the best copy writer working today. His emails are an education in and of themselves and there’s more stuff on his site.
Mike Klingler wins the prize with his FREE Renegade University.
It’s filled with video tutorials teaching you about attraction marketing, how to set up and use a free manual traffic exchange and even how to use your computer for the true computer novice.
Other places to look for good FREE business and marketing information are sites like EzineArticles.com, About.com and HowTo.com. Not to mention Squidoo, HubPages and the numerous blogs on every topic under the sun.
Well, there’s your network marketing tip for today. To help you S-t-r-e-t-c-H your business budget, seek out and soak up all the FREE business and marketing information available on the web.
