MLM Scams?

MLM Scams are lurking everywhere...
or are they?

Unfortunately the network marketing industry is filled with hype making it difficult to sort out fact from fiction. How do you tell the good network marketing opportunities from the bad?

Educating your self is the only way to sort out MLM scams from a true MLM business plan.

  • Rumors of MLM scams get spread every time someone loses money in or fails at an MLM opportunity.  But does this make it a scam?
  • If you catch someone working in the network marketing industry in a lie does that make it a scam?
  • Perhaps an indesypherable compensation plan or failed MLM company is an MLM scam?
Nope, none of the above are MLM scams. The Mirriam-Webster dictionary defines a scam as "a fradulent or deceptive act or operation".  So a network marketing business that cheats or tricks those involved is an MLM scam.

How do you protect yourself from MLM scams?

Education is the key to avoiding scams of any sort, MLM or otherwise. Most of the time people thing network marketing is a scam because they don't understand the what it's all about.  When you take the time to fully understand the distribution model and how MLM compensation plans work you'll realize there really are very few MLM scams out there.

For a great explanation of what MLM or network marketing is I highly recommend you watch this highly informative MLM video
by Tim Sales and Harvard Professor Dr. Charles King.  It's called "Brilliant Compensation". (when you click this link it'll open in a new window, the link to the video is in the upper left hand corner. It's worth the inconvenience of going there, I promise).

Now that you've taken the time to educate yourself by watching "Brilliant Compensation" you have the information you need to tell the difference between MLM scams and legetimate network marketing opportunities.

The network marketing information you just learned puts you light years ahead of the crowd. Hopefully you also saw the power of the network marketing industry. How it can help people to build a successful home based business.

This doesn't mean there are no MLM scams out there?

Unfortunately there are nasty folks in the world willing to take advantage of the unwarry.  You need to do your due diligence and learn all you can about the top network marketing companies out there.

And remember, MLM is not for everyone.

MLM programs are not easy and their not get rich quick schemes.  It takes real work and dedication to succeed in the network marketing industry.  With MLM it is possible to make seriously BIG money but only if you're willing to work hard and dillegently to get it.

Things to look out for...

If you are checking out an MLM network marketing opportunity keep your eyes open for these tell tale signs of MLM scams.

No selling involved
We'll build your downline for you
Guaranteed income

Unfortunately if something sounds too good to be true it probably is. The hallmark of mlm scams is outrageous claims of overnight success or getting something for nothing.  If someone promises you huge rewards for very little effort on your part... run as fast as you can the other way.

I hope you'll keep these ideas in mind while investigating network marketing opportunities. Remember to do your homework and you'll find success knocking at your door.
